Talking Tennessee

“Meanwhile, I want to go on talking with you as freely and intimately about what we live for and die for as if I knew you better than anyone else whom you know.”

And so Tennessee Williams invites us to join his intimate circle of friends while he takes us on a tour of the life experiences that produced the work. In his amusing, self-mocking and always vulnerable anecdotes, Williams reveals much about the plays but mostly he reveals himself, the "unregenerate romanticist" who got up every day to write in order to "snatch the eternal out of the desperately fleeting."
